In the winter of 2019 I received an unexpected email which was both exciting and setting off every alarm in my head that it just had to be too good to be true. A publisher in Japan was seeking photos of abandoned locations from around the world for a new edition of their “Abandoned Beauty” series. After working with a translator/liaison who was also an UrbEx photographer I began to believe the offer was legit. I gathered a series of locations I had shot in years past and hoped for the best. In the end, a selection of 28 images across 9 locations in the Southeastern United States.
