Despite the fact that I live only 2mi from this location, it has been several years since I’ve actually visited the museum. A chance to visit 1 hour before the public was presented, and I made use of the opportunity. I could probably spend hours in this place finding all kinds of interesting things, though based on past experience I knew that I absolutely wanted to get the kitchen car and the mail car. I wanted to also get the presidential car but the front half was undergoing renovations, and I had to settle for the lounge area in back. I count this as a sort of UrbEx trip, due the relatively unknown nature of the site and the state of many of the train cars. I note that this is a legit business, and they could really use your donations and patronage, so please stop by if you’re in Duluth, GA and have an interest in anything railroad.
